Dexter beats Bedford Broncos

On Thursday, December 3rd, the 7th grade boys basketball team played the Bedford Broncos.  The last time they had played Bedford, they had destroyed them by more then ten.  This game, the Broncos had brought their A-game, and we only won by the slim margarine of one.

The game was close, and in the closing seconds, Bedford had the ball. Their star player dribbled the ball down the court, and pushed it in for a game winning layup.  But right as he went up for the layup, he was met by two defenders, who were called for the foul.  He bricked both of his free-throws, but pulled down the rebound with about two seconds left, and shot! He luckily missed, and we got the win!

After the game, coach told us all of the good things we did, and all of the bad, just like any good coach would do.  Noah M, 7th grade, said, “I love our team, and the way we're playing. The coaching is good, and all of the plays seem to work really well." Our team showed that we really wanted this win, and we fought for it until the bitter end. It was a crazy game.

Zac S, 7th, said “I like my team. Our record is 4-4-1. Last game I scored 18 points, and  I LOVE the coach, though something he could do better is to not yell at the weaker players."  Zac enjoys playing, as long as he doesn’t get blown out.  Even though Dexter maroon barely pulled this game off, it made the win twice as enjoyable.  The fans were really cheering, and were on the edge of their seats for nearly the entire game.

As Dexter maroon played Bedford, they really showed their talent by holding the Bedford team to not scoring for the last minute of the game.  It was close to the end, and everyone played well. There were very few turnovers, and that was a key part to the win, because not many of Dexter’s shots were falling.

The Dexter teams have shown their talent by winning this last game!
