What is the point of Boxing?

What is the point of Boxing?  Who wants to be punched in the face? I know I don’t.

My opinion is it's just two bonehead guys fight over fame and money.  You only really need to be violent when you're working out, or when you're trying to protect yourself.  Don’t do boxing it will be a very bad road ahead.

I asked Paige B, 8th, what she thinks. “It's for people that like to watch other people suffer.”  I agreed with her it is sick and pointless. You sit in front of your T.V. and watch people get hurt.  That's not that fun in my opinion.  You could be watching a funny show, or something that you could learn something.  But I would still go with the funny show.

I did some research and in a fight if you won you could make 30,000 dollars but it could be doubled to 60,000 dollars.  And if I was a family member I would be very scared to watch when he/she would get into the ring to fight someone.  Or say you weren’t watching and you get a call from the hospital to say your brother/sister is badly hurt.  That would scare me to death.  Someone would get paralyzed and someone is going to say that they deserved it because that they did a very dangerous sport.

I asked Jacob D what he thought the point of boxing was and he said, “The point of it is beating the other person up until down.”  It's very bloody to watch people just getting punched in the face and having their jaw broken.  That's just sick to watch.

I also asked one of my anchor teachers, Mrs. Darnton, does she like boxing and why? She said, “I don’t like boxing. It pains me to watch people pummeling each other.”  It is very paining, I agree. It is very painful to watch that much of violence toward someone.  I don’t like boxing at all!
