Nike vs. Adidas

It's the age old battle, Nike vs. Adidas. Personally I like Nike the best. Nike is named after the Greek goddess Nike of triumph and success. What Adidas stands for is not quite clear. Some people say it's named after the founder Adolph (adi) Dassler (das); others say it stands for All Day I Dream About Sports, and others even say it stands for All Day I Dream About ***. I don't know what it stands for, but I do know that both are among the top selling shoe brands in the world.

Nike is a shoe brand started in the 70's by Bill Bowerman and Philip Knight. It is the world's leading supplier of athletic shoes and apparel. It has products under its own name as well as under Nike Skateboarding, Nike+, and many others. It also owns other companies such as Converse and Hurley International. At one timed it owned Nike Bauer the hockey company. Nike makes some of the industry's best shoes including the Shox, Air Max, Flite, Zoom Force, and Hypermax. "I really like their running shoes," says Sam K, 7th. "They are really comfortable and look really cool." So what do you know, another Nike lover.

But some people don't agree with me. Adidas is a shoe and apparel brand that has been around since the 1950's and makes famous shoes such as the Pro Model, the Superstar, and the Megabounce. "Overall I prefer Adidas," says Owen K, 8th. "Their running and track shoes are the best. For example my Adidas Supernovas are outfitted with the latest technology which help me to run three times faster than the average human being." Sam K, 7th, likes Adidas Megabounce. "Even though I like Nikes, Adidas Megabounce are awesome shoes," says Sam.

So in conclusion I think Nike is the best, and so do most other people. My proof is out of a class of seventeen people twelve said they like Nike best, four said Adidas, and one didn't know. Some reasons are that they have better shoe models than Adidas and are way more comfortable. Even though they are a little more expensive than Adidas, they're worth it. So if you're going to buy a new pair of shoes, get a pair of Nikes.
