Are you trying to publish an article on to the website your reading this on write now?  Are you behind in School Newspaper?  If so, this article will give you some helpful hints for passing the class.

My number one tip is, don’t get behind!  If you find yourself lost and unable to catch up with the work, it is hard to get back on track.  Everyone works at a different pace, but if you miss a deadline, you will start to get overwhelmed with work.

“On a scale of difficulty, numbers one to ten, this class probably would get a three,”  says 8th grader Zach K.

It’s not a ridiculously hard class.  But it can turn to that if you get behind.  To avoid getting overwhelmed, stay on task!  Don’t hide in the back and play games online.  It may seem like a good idea at the time but it could hurt in the long run.  If you are behind though, take one task on at a time.  If you open a bunch of windows on your computer and try getting all your work done at once, you won’t be working as effectively.

If you can’t think of a topic for an article, you can do a number of things.  Ask a friend for advice.  Look online at recent news events to write about.  Write about something happening at your school.  Or make a list of things you like and choose something!  Do not spend all of class thinking for a topic.

If you can’t understand one of the assignments, don’t be afraid to ask the teacher for help.  She will gladly help you.  It also is a big help when writing your article to have a window open with the article formatting chart.  I had it open writing this so I didn’t miss anything needed.

I hoped this helped.  So when you're in class, think about these tips and write a good article!
