Tigers blow it

On October 6, 2009, the Detroit Tigers played the Minnesota Twins for an AL Central tiebreaker game to go to the playoffs. And guess what, the Tigers lost. And from the start of the season, the Tigers have been in the lead in their division the whole season, but when that final game ended the Twins were ahead. One day the Tigers were 7 games ahead - 7 games, and that is a lot.

In the tiebreaker game the score was tied in the end of the 9th which means extra innings. There was a pitch that was thrown that hit the jersey of number 15, Brandon Inge, which should be called and might have made the Tigers win.

Nick R said, “The Tigers had a lot of missed opportunities to score and their bullpen was very bad.”  I also asked him what he thought of the the tiebreaker game. He said, “I don't even think they should have been in that game.”

My opinion on this subject is that the Tigers aren't a consistent team which means that they don't win easy games and when they win they can't start a rally of win streaks.

Dylan P said, "It was very disappointing."  I agree. It was heartbreaking for a lot of people. In my opinion, the word I would use is depressed or depressing. I hope next year the Tigers do better, but we can only hope.
