On October 16-18, 2009, 7th and 8th grade students from Mill Creek Middle School took a four hour bus ride to Timber Wolf Lake in the northern part of Michigan for a retreat with their church group, Wildlife.

Timber Wolf Lake is a retreat and it sits on a 876 acres of land.  Dexter was joined by five or six schools in Michigan. Sydney Eisele and Maggie Pawloski love to go to Timber Wolf Lake because they make it so easy  to have a successful way to have fun and also learn about God. They  follow a logging-era theme throughout camp, and they have dorm style housing. Each dorm has a lobby and eight cabins, each with their own bathroom. Everything is brand new.

Timber Wolf Lake also has a zip line, rope swing, tubing hill, skiing hill, ski resorts, 18-hole frisbee golf course, enclosed gym with indoor climbing wall and much more.
On the first day of camp, the students played field games called "Sumo Stations" where teams had to earn points by completing a list of activities as a cabin. Friday night, we also went to Club.  During Clubs, we sang songs, played fun games with the program characters, listened to the special musician, and heard a talk from a speaker, Jill.

Saturday morning, cabins played more field games where the whole camp broke up into four different teams and played relay games, ending in a shaving cream fight.  In the afternoon, our Dexter group went on the climbing wall. That evening, we went on a wagon ride called the Wagonship Cruise and had a bonfire in the woods, where we met Sassy the Sasquatch.  At night, we had a Talent Show where some Dexter girls performed a dance to "Party in the USA," and two teens sang a duet to "You are the Music in Me."  Afterward, Jake Ousley, the special musician, had a concert in the Blue Ox.  And Saturday, we went to Club twice and had Cabin Time once.

Sunday morning, we went to Club and then left to go home.  The weekend ended fast and the next time Dexter will be able to go to Timber Wolf Lake will be in the summer of 2010.
